South Australia was initially referred to as New Holland, but by 1832, the name "Southern Australia" began appearing in official documents, with further clarification in 1834 when the term “South Australia” became prominent. It is noted that in the South Australian Archives, the expression “South Australia” can be traced back to a letter in 1832 when the South Australian Land Company submitted its first prospectus. agriculture.[1]
