Biography

Returning to further cement their status as one of Australia’s most enduring musical success stories, Hilltop Hoods released a new single titled Show Business in 2022. The single follows the 2020 charity release "I'm Good?" and features a collaboration with US soul singer, Eamon.

The single was produced by One Above, who enhanced the quintessential Hilltop Hoods sound with melodic and elevated production that perfectly complements the unique flows of both Pressure and Suffa MC. The song discusses the repercussions and trials of navigating a career and life within the music industry and the public eye, touching on both the highs and the inevitable lows.

Suffa MC shared that the inspiration for "Show Business" came from conversations with his friend Dools. He recounts being called while on the road, often in less-than-ideal situations, prompting Dools to remark, "What, and quit show business?" This line captures the mix of humor and seriousness experienced in the music industry, especially in challenging times.

Music Video

The music video for "Show Business" was directed by Nash Edgerton of Blue Tongue Films and Mr. Inbetween fame. This marked a reunion with the Hilltop Hoods since their 2011 collaboration on "I Love It." Pressure expressed his enthusiasm for the video, noting it as possibly his favorite, despite his unusual appearance in it.

"Show Business" marks the beginning of a new chapter for Hilltop Hoods, leading up to their first studio album since 2019's The Great Expanse. Coinciding with their return to live touring in Australia, including major festival appearances, the release signals a renewed readiness to impact national audiences.[1]
